It was the 4th Era..Dragons had returned to Skyrim..though, their abrupt resurrection was halted by a hero the Nords called Dragonborn. Using the very power that the Dragons themselves wielded called the Thu'um, the Dragonborn absorbed their souls, and after vanquishing Alduin..peace had returned to Skyrim..at least, a tolerable peace. The Nords were still untrusting of the High Elves due to the actions of the Aldmeri Dominion..shouting that Skyrim belonged to the Nords. However, that same hero defeated the Aldmeri Dominion, banishing them back to the Summerset Isles, and restoring the worship of Talos. Though the Empire was pushed out of Skyrim, and Skyrim was once again ruled by the High Jarl thanks to the efforts of Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak..the Empire wasn't out of the running in the push for power. Imperial troops and spies were encamped in random places along the countryside..just waiting for the time when Skyrim and her people would need them. That day..might be sooner then later..as a new threat looms in the distance...one, that threatens not only Skyrim..but all of Tamriel. Whispers of a powerful group called the Cult of Mortal Encoilment was stirring, having spread from the Summerset Isles into Daggerfel..and, was now marching their way towards Skyrim through the Imperial capital of Cyrodiil. Because of the cults march leaving nothing but death and destruction in its wake..the Dragonborn and the Nerevarine, fabled hero of Vvardenfel..set out together in an attempt to halt the advances of the Cult, thought to be a Cult worshipping Molag Bal, the Daedric Prince of domination and enslavement.
Now, with the Dragonborn and Nerevarine setting out..the Jarls of Skyrim and Three Great Houses of Vvardenfel..struggle to muster their military strength. Though Dark Elves and Nords were naturally untrusting of each other in past times..their only hope lies in a tense peace treaty..one, that either faction is just watching, to see who will break the treaty first. Due to their homeland being almost completely decimated..the Redguards have taken up residence in either Cyrodiil, Morrowind or Skyrim..though, their treatment in the capital has raised the brows of many of them.
