(Kenryo)
He didn't sleep to terribly long, surprising even to himself he didn't need much. Maybe it was an adverse effect of the change, still having some "benefits" from the change. But usually it only took about 3-4 hours for him to feel well rested. Although now his dreams were a bit more serene, almost like he was starting to work past everything. But every now and then, the dream would shift back almost like flashes. This is usually what would trigger him to wake up. He would be covered in sweat, heart would be racing for what seemed like only a few minutes it had its effects. Shooting up he turned letting his legs slide off the bed. Sitting up, he dropped his elbows onto his knee kickstanding his face as he dropped it into his hands. He whispered "Go away already, I did what I had to.. It's what I've always done. I shouldn't have to suffer because of what a monster forced on me." He then stood up and got dressed, thoughts of how much simpler life had become since dropping his responsibilities. He had a thought, maybe it would be better to just enjoy this life. I've fought hard enough...
With that, he had a chipper moment and got himself dressed. He could hear whispers of conversations going on down the hall. He left his blade in the room, figuring he'd enjoy the day hopefully without worrying about it. Getting dressed, he put on his stylish over sized pants, and his nice boots. But only put on a tight "V" neck t-shirt which he tucked into the pants. His arms slightly tearing the material that wrapped his large arms. And he headed out into the common area.
Coming closer, he still was playing with the thought of maybe just... enjoying a couple of decades. Actually living, then accepting oblivion. As he came to the corner he could hear the conversation between Dukal and Nathalie right at the point where she mentioned him being a savior. It stopped him in his tracks and his heart skipped a beat. Then he let out a huge sigh, he sat there against the wall. He didn't want to interrupt the two, but calling him that... He thought to himself... is that really how she and others picture me? Could I turn from that? Who would take up what I've been doing if I am gone. And to make matters worse, he then heard Dukal speak. And it was as if the man knew he was there, and knew just what to say to turn his mind from wanting to be carefree, to feeling guilty. He would be taking what he considered the cowards way out. Giving up, and just letting the sands of time ultimately take him. He was too stubborn for that, and hearing Dukal's words on being what your made to be... What you were born to do, combined with the overwhelming feeling he got being called a savior by one of his closest friends.... he knew now what he had to do. Also, knowing the power he had... could he trust it to be passed to another and not corrupt them? His power was a huge burden, but something he managed to contain. It wasn't until he lost his love for life, which took thousands of years that the power started to slip. But this experience had done more than make him appreciate what he had, it gave him almost an envy of mortals. To know your time is short means everything is so much more significant. And now, not only did he want his power to protect everyone he cared for, but to be a the guardian he should've been all along. To keep a balance and allow the lesser beings to live with a sense of peace long forgotten. And should another source arrive with the intent of doing this world harm, they would need the Kenryo of old... well at least his strength. But maybe if he could take this change with him, it could be a stronger and wiser one. But, this is all assuming he does what is necessary.
Patience was never his strong point. And after weeks of no information he wondered when or what a sign would be as to what his direction needed to be. He was flying blind, he knew at some point the road to redemption will take him from this place. He just hoped Nathalie would understand, and know he would come back to everyone.
Enough self loathing, he thought to himself. He stood up and walked down to Dukal and Nathalie. "Well, I'm sure with what I know of Nathalie and what I've picked up on you... Your both aware that I heard the back end of that conversation." He stood before Dukal, unarmed which even for a man like himself ment he felt half naked. He looked straight into the man's eyes "A killer you are, I can tell that by just looking at you. Your form, the way you carry yourself. But a tiger killing a gazelle isn't evil. You don't seem to be malicious, or a threat to those who don't mean to do others harm. You focused what you were into a positive and for that you have my utmost respect. Few can channel such a force... " He then turned to Nathalie "Nathalie, and you my dear, are infuriating. As much as I want to wrap you in my arms, sometimes I want to wrap them around your neck and throttle you for the things you say. Do you not realize, in everything I have done, all the lives I have saved it was people like you, Shakaar, Morrigan, and... the one you mentioned. "Turning back to Dukal. "Kai.... now there was a savior if ever the title was deserved." He took a deep breathe before continuing... "People like you were the force that drove me, mainly you. Do you not realize that just the influence, love and support you have provided us have helped us on our journey. You are a savior to the saviors, your a shoulder we could always lean on when our minds were slipping, when we were giving up. You could look into my eyes and give me a reason to hold my sword up. Days.... weeks of straight combat it was the love of those closest to me that kept my blade swinging and my body moving not the strength in my arms."
With that he simply turned from the pair and went to the bar, grabbing a large bottle of ale. "I fear my human body loves this stuff more than it should..." He then leaned against the counter and began to drink from the bottle. "If your wanting to know my story Sir Dukal I'll share it. But I ask, you have been around for a long time. Has rumors of Shakaar's fate made it's way to you? Even though age is a non existent thing before now he is my nephew, and one of the only blood kin I have left."

Nathallie was really enjoying to talk to Dukal when she felt the warmth coming closer, she knew as well Dukal was feeling it. But he was still talking, she sighs as he finishes, he had said a lot, and still he thinks he is not a teacher, well he is not a teacher literally but he has the way with letters, she bites her lower lip and opens her mouth to say something but Ken was faster, she turns away and looks at him, not even a good morning...what a kind, she rolls her eyes as she hears all he has to say...when then he starts talking to her she moves her eyes inside of his...but he didn't let any space for them to talk back to him. Seems someone woke up in such a 'good' mood, folds her arms as she hears , her eyes follows him as he speaks and walks...she looks at Dukal, and his hand, just to be sure it wasn't already holding his blade, because if she had a blade right now she was going to throw it over him, or perhaps cut his tongue off...when he goes to the bar, she cleans her throat and frowns...he said nothing about she was back into Nathallie's factures. "Well...good morning to you too, Sir. Don't you think is kinda early for being in so bad mood? you have a point , alright, we all know that. But good morning is something mortal say to each other because they sleep and wake up, I do not and still I like saying it. I will ask Hans to bring something for you eat, because mortal people also eat...Seems you are playing a character from some tragedy, you know, those English ones I loved to read? Please Ken, after you speak, Dukal speaks, and you eat, you will return to your room, take a shower, relax your mortal senses and return saying good morning.." shakes her head as she looks at Dukal and nods.."We will have the chance to talk , and..well...Nathallie is the answer" she smiles gently and walks to the kitchen as she screams Hans name in anger.

Dukal reigned in the amusement that threatened to spill from his eyes to spread his lips into a smile, keeping his expression impassive as Nathallie raged against Kenryo's bad manners. Privately, though, he did agree with her, though he might not have put it as such. He followed her inside, then halted next to Ken, reaching up to place a restraining hand on the man's shoulder, having a good idea what was coming. To him, he said, "Be at peace. She is having a rough time at the moment. As you've heard, I've held up a mirror to her, and it seems that you caught a view of yourself in it. She needs a bit of time to come to terms with her decisions. More, what she needs is a friend. That role, I'm sure you could fill better than most. Better than I, for that matter. And, yes, I am indeed a killer. Any that have raised weapon against me have tasted the steel of my blade. Yet, as you said, I do not take lives lightly."
With that, he dropped his hand to his side, then turned to lean his back against the bar and said, "As for your question about Shakaar...I have, indeed, seen him recently. I cannot be the one to tell you the full story, but...I think your question will be answered in due time." He nodded toward the door and added, "Outside, I could hear the sound of familiar wagon wheels coming down the road. They're still a couple of hours away, however. Plenty of time for you to get cleaned up, as our generous hostess has suggested."

He noticed that had given some offense of his own. As he started to chug the ale as Nathalie gave him a tongue lashing, he quickly stopped drinking. He lowered the bottle to respond, but was cut short by Dukal's words. He understood where she was coming from... He allowed his nightmare and the fact that he cared so much for Nathalie and hearing her words upset him. He didn't like hearing her down herself, not when she deserves her own high praise for things she's done.... it didn't mean he had to be rude. Another life lesson in a short time, he thought to himself... He listened first to the rest of what Dukal had to say. Gave the man a nod, just to show he was paying attention. He then responded to Nathalie... "Well my dear... I apologize, it was... rude of me to simply come down on a tangent. I just hate how you beat yourself up, it doesn't however excuse my behavior." He then gave her a smile, he knew in this he acted like an ass.
He then looked over to Dukal... "So he's survived... tough bastard makes an old man proud." He sighed, not trying to get his hopes up. Because the way Dukal presented it, there was more to the story. And considering what he was going threw the whole world in some way was turned upside down. "Thanks Dukal, if there is something I should be warned about with this approaching wagon please let me know." He set the bottle down... "As for your other request..."He offered a half bow to Nathalie... "I shall get myself more... appropriate for civilized folk." He then turned to head back upstairs to take his bath and give them a moment to finish their conversation.

Shaking her head she looks at Dukal and sighs.."I really should have been a mother.." Hans walks in and places the trail with some fruits and bread, as well a jar of water, Nathallie knows he will love drinking it, human needs it, she smiles at Hans" Thank you, Hans, you can go now, I believe since it is really calm today you can go to the village if you like, I know there is one girl you want to see" she smiles gently, "Melinda, right?" The boy blushes hard and smiles brightly gasping the words..'ye..yeas'..."Good boy, you may go now" she nods as well Hans does and he runs away...She looks at Dukal.."I am not a bad person, well, a bad vampire" she smiles and looks outside.."You said someone is coming, Shakaar, I saw him once or twice, as well his wife Beatrice, she was pregnant when I met them." she seems a little lost in her thoughts..."What's really happening in here? We have no costumers but it seems all the people you both know are coming one by one in here" she looks at the stairs.."I didn't want to be mean, but sometimes I can't help"...She looks at him.."Thank you, I heard what you said to Ken, was very kind of you, even you donot like to be considered kind. But it was anyway. And thank you as well for helping me with all this, seems this Inn will have the same function as my Mansion had once...people meet to talk about fight, war, for planning a move and as well to have fun and drink.." she shakes her head.."You are right, no matter where you are, what you are, which one you choose to be, you can change your nature not even an inch.." she smiles and looks outside as she sees Hans running the hill up to meet the girl...she smiles..

Dukal's lips did, this time, lift into a very slight smile as he turned to Nathallie. The smile faded, however, as he replied, "Well, "Mother", it is not Shakaar, exactly, that is coming to visit. I would ask that you not even mention that name, if it be at all possible. The man that is coming does not even know that name exists, let alone the person it identifies. Unlike you, his search for identity comes at a cost of not knowing the truth of who he was, who he is, nor who he will become. He may find his answer here, but he must come to it under his own power. I fear to think what may happen if his answers were simply handed over to him like a ham on a silver platter."
With that, he glanced toward the door, hearing arriving hoofbeats. "It seems that we have other visitors first, however..."

Oni noticed the tavern and inn far in the distance, still some few miles away. He knew that the horses could use a rest and to restock the feed for them. As well, he saw that the thief, Talon, had also seen the inn and was obviously hoping for a halt. Privately, he would have preferred to pass it by, not knowing the people that inhabited such a place, not wishing to place his Lord in any potential danger. Still, he also felt the draw of a chance at a bath. "Lord Milenko," he called softly over his shoulder. "It seems we are approaching an inn. I would not disturb you, but I think our "friend" also wishes to halt for the rest of today and tonight."
Talon, for his part, eagerly rode his horse closer on hearing the suggestion of a stop, letting his expression show his excitement as agreement to the suggestion. He ignored the implied insult Oni had thrown at him in the way the foreigner had said "friend", but he didn't know just how much longer he could do so. At least, not without a few gallons of ale to help him...
Milenko, hiding a yawn behind his mask, peered blearily from the cover on the back of the wagon to see what Oni was talking about. He spotted the dark smudge of the tavern still at least an hour away far down the road and nodded his agreement. He didn't say so, but he could tell that they all were indeed in need of a bath. Not that they stank overmuch, but he felt at the least grimy, especially after dealing with Ashleigh a few nights ago. Something about the vampiric mage had rubbed him that way. He retreated into the cover again and stretched as best he could in the cramped environment, limbering up his muscles enough that he was then able to climb out onto the driver's bench beside Oni. "When we get there," he said once settled, "If you and Talon would be so kind, I would ask that you two go in first to not only make sure we'd be welcome, but to make the arrangements with the keeper for at least two nights' stay."
Talon, by this time, was impatient. Without waiting, and knowing that it would at least incur further ridicule from the foreigner, if not a reprimand from their employer, he took off at a gallop down the road. In but a few minutes, he came to a halt in front of the inn and dismounted, hurridly wrapping his reigns around the hitching post in front near the door. Before the dust he'd raised as he made his approach even had the chance to begin to settle, he opened the door and peered in at the dark-cloaked man and the beautiful woman standing at the bar, his expression hopeful.

After a quick bath, he got himself dressed. This time he went full rattle, full suit weapon over his shoulder. He looked in the mirror after drying his long white hair. Pulling his hair back he tied it into a ponytail. He then rubed his hand across his face feeling the stubble return. Shaving was also new the first time he shaved he looked like his face had a fight with a pair of scissors. But he had become fairly proficient at it. He did a quick shaved polishing himself off. He was fresh looking now, so he left the bathing room and headed back down stairs. As he hit the bottom he greeted them both with a welcoming smile. "Good morning!" He said loud and enthusiastically. Feeling good from the relaxing bath until he noticed a serious vibe... "Everything alright?"

Nathallie was really surprised now, he was smiling, she chuckles as he calls her 'mother', she shakes her head and looks outside as well as she nods"Yes, seems we are going to have company" she looks at Dukal and then she stands and walks over the mirror behind the bar and looks herself, checking here and there and as well her lips, would be better no one see a drop of the blood she was drinking before. She smiles slightly as she turns away and then she looks ay Ken who was already downstairs, "Good morning Ken, feeling better?" she smiles as she walks over him and places a gently kiss on his face, of course she was having to reach up and the kiss almost touch the corner of his lips, she smiles, "You are great now" she winks, "Some people are coming, someone you seem to know, I know it is really difficult to you but please, act naturally alright, the food is on the balcony and we have water as well, drink, you will feel even better, please alright?" As they were thinking , she looks at Dukal "Here we go" she winks and then as she cleans her throat the man opens the door, Nathallie turns to him and smiles, her most beautiful smile, seems everything was becoming more interesting now, she slowly walks over to the man "Good morning, My Lord, please make yourself at home, I am your hostess Nathallie, and its a pleasure to have you here" Nathallie's eyes move quickly to Dukal and then to the man again, why in hell she was feeling nervous, something was really wrong here, she feels..."Please, come in, this is Dukal, he will help you with your bagage if you want, but now it seems you had a long trip till here" she nods gently , or she should bowl, well, she nods anyway. Nath walks over to a table as she waits the man to follow her she looks at him and smiles. The man's attention goes over Dukal for a moment , she looks at Ken and whispers.."eat"...and then back to the man...

Talon, at being called "Lord", pointed to his own face and evinced a puzzled expression, as though to convey the thought of "who, me?". He then shook his head in negation, plainly indicating that he was no Lord. He also raised a hand in the dark-cloaked man the woman named as Dukal's direction, still shaking his head, letting them know that there was no baggage from him to be taken care of. He felt slightly nervous in the presence of these three. Something about them was just plain "off". The giant of a human man, and two people that were both honestly too beautiful for mortal words to describe...yeah, this was something of another world. He followed Nathallie, though, not letting his nerves get the best of his bravado. He glanced around, searching for a bartender as he sat at the table, looking up at the woman with a questioning gaze as he extended his thumb and pinky on his left hand and made a drinking motion with it. He wanted ale, and badly, and to the hells with how early in the day it was.
Oni, for his part, was coughing on the dust that the thief had raised with his departure. He cursed under his breath in his own language for a moment, comparing Talon's parentage with that of a cross between a berried plant and a hamster. "My Lord," he said to Milenko. "Please excuse his rash behavior. At the very least, if there is some form of trap ahead, he will be the one to trigger it and will fall as those of his low intelligence deserves."
At that, Milenko frowned, the expression visible even around the mask he wore. "Oni, I will not say this a second time," he said. "You will treat our companion with due respect, am I understood?"
Abashed, Oni nodded with a reflexive, "Hai, sensei." He then twitched the reins, sending the horses into a canter, one that would let them get to the inn a bit faster than before. He was also impatient, and was feeling it all the more the closer they got.
Milenko, too, felt impatience taking hold of him. He uttered a few soft words, gave one of the rings on his fingers a twist, then sat back as a field of magical energy encased the wagon. Time and space folded around them, depositing the wagon but a hundred yards away from the tavern now as the teleportation spell let them go. When Oni glanced at him, he only answered with a wink and a shrug.
Once they pulled up near the tavern, Oni tied the reins to the bar in front of the seat, then swung down easily from the wagon's bench, showing little of the stiffness he felt. Pride and "face" prevented as much, especially here where he'd be seen by strangers. He hobbled the horses, then went into the tavern, looking over immediately with a disapproving expression on his Oriental features. Then, seeing the two men, one large and well-armed, the other cloaked and baring but few weapons, he asked, "Which of you do I make arrangements with for my Lord to rest here for two days?"

Dukal's left eyebrow twitched slightly upward at the strange man's pantomiming. "A mute?" he asked in a low tone, then shrugged inwardly. He went behind the bar to get Talon's asked-for drink, then approached the table with a glass of pale Chardonnay. He knew damned well that the man didn't want it, but he did it anyways just to see what reaction he could elicit from him. Setting the glass down, he turned and faced the second man, this one seemingly from Asian stock, as he came in and spoke. This time, both brows raised as he silently looked to Nathallie, amusement twinkling in his eyes as he waited to see her reaction. He'd only intervene if it looked like she might tear the poor soul's arms and legs off. But, in the meantime, he seemed to mean to enjoy what was coming...

She raises an eybrow as she watches the man moving his hand, she blinks, looks at Dukal that were already at the bar getting something to the poor man drink, she lifts an eyebrow as she sees the bottle, it was going to be hard, she holds her laugh as she looks at Ken hoping really bad he was already finishing his food, and then she looks to Dukal , shivering she feels weird, trying hard she tries to keep herself relax, wishing her eyes was not going right now to denounce her. Seeing Dukal will handle with the mute one she walks over to the bar and grabs herself some water drinking it, she smiles at Ken, she turns away and then two others were already there, the weird feeling of being treatned, placing the glass aside she licks her lips and looks at Milenko, a mask? alright , what was that now, circus just came in town? She knows Dukal reads her mind , she opens it for him, her expresion doesn't change thou as she looks then at the Asian one, so full of himself ignoring her right away, she looks at Dukal and nods slighty as she smiles..."Good morning, a place for two days?" she smiles even more as she ignores the Asian one walking closer to Milenko.."I believe you are their employer? My name is Nathallie and this is my Inn" as she says that she looks at the man who just ignored her and smiles even more and then back to Milenko " Please, come in , sit down, I will make sure everything will be ready for you and your men...and the horses as well...we have a full service in here.." She was just going to ignore the Asian one for now, because she feels it was not going to be a good idea to be mean to him, the magic surrounding Milenko was too strong and she was really worried about what was going to happen, she was even going to suggest him to take away his mask, but she shut up for now would be more wise..she walks over to the table the mute is and shows them a place to sit..and then looks at Dukal.."This one is Dukal, he will help with everything you need..." she smiles to all of them but her eyes stops for a moment into Milenko's ones...Nothing...it was really going to be hard...and then over to the Asian one.."I hope you enjoy my place Sir" , she leans a little placing her hands on the wooden table, as she does that the V neckline reveals a little more than she should, but if Dukal could give Chardonnay to a the poor mute man, she can also play a little. "Everything you need , just ask" Her tone was so soft, so deep, that it seemed to go inside the man head and keep echoing there...her scent were already filling the place...she stands back, looks at Dukal, as he knows he will have to help her with them and she walks over to bar, grabbing a bottle of the best Alle she has and a fancy goblet, she walks back to the table and place both over it as she looks to Milenko.."A gift..enjoy Sir" she nods as she turns away and leaves the main hall for a moment going to the kitchen place her senses together...she was really feeling that somehow, it was going to be two days in hell she sighs as she leans over a wall trying to keep her balance.

He sat himself down, wising up he used two chairs to support his weight instead of one. And begun to enjoy the food that was prepared for him. Then as he was finishing he watched as a lad walked into the inn. The guy seemed like a scared cat, skittish, jumpy... He paid him no mind, this group did look a bit different than your average rest stop. So he went back to his meal and paid no more attention to the man. Then a short time after another pair of men walked in, the Asian man... now that made him chuckle. To be so bold as to completely disregard the lady in the building. He had traveled all over the world, he knew that in certain customs women were thought of as less. But this place wasn't one of them. He watched as she greeted him showing him to a table. He waited patiently as Nathalie went threw the usual. Being polite, being a hostess, trying to make her guests happy. Once she was done, Kenryo stood up from his table. And walked over towards the lads, gnawing on an apple. "So, now that pleasantries are out of the way. I understand you come from a far off place, but know here... women are not sub-servant to men. Treat her with respect, is all I demand from all our guests." With that he turned around and begun to walk back towards Dukal.

Talon took the glass and looked at it bemusedly. He quirked a brow at the man that brought it to him, then defiantly drank it down in a single pull. He was damned if he was going to let that man get to him. He still made a face, however, of disgust as he set the glass down. Too damned dainty was written clear in his expression. He signaled again, this time to the larger man, hoping that he, at least, would get the hint. He didn't wish to trouble the lady, it seemed her attention was elsewhere anyways, at least once Oni had come in. He watched, amused, as Oni first insulted her, then was handed an even worse one in return. So amused, in fact, he very nearly laughed aloud, though he limited himself to a broad smile.
Oni, for his part, was mortified. Of course, he had forgotten that in other lands, women would likely be in power. His own land was far away...Shaking free of that thought, he bowed deeply to Nathallie and said, "Many apologies, my Lady. Please, excuse my rudeness."
At that, Milenko walked in just in time to meet with Nathallie at the door. He returned her nod with a gracious bow of his own, folding one hand atop his chest and extending the other to his side. "My lady," he said as he straightened. "Your welcome is most kind. Please, for our horses, there are only three of them: the two drawing my wagon and the third belonging to my silent companion, there." He indicated Talon with a wave of his hand. "Indeed, yes, we do wish accommodations for three for two nights, if it pleases." He looked around, catching sight of both Dukal and the larger man. A brow raised sharply over his mask as he recognized Dukal, but said nothing of it. The large man, however...something about him was just as naggingly familiar as Daniel had been. It was as if he knew the man's face, knew his voice, but could not place a name to it. Damn it! he thought. When will this thrice-cursed insanity end?!
Eyes still locked on the giant as Nathallie left, he took off his mask, revealing his own features, as he said, "I also wish to apologize for any of my companions' behavior that might have been out of place. Talon, the silent one, he is selectively mute, meaning he chooses not to speak to any others I know of, and Oni is not from this land. He is from the Far East. If there is anything I can do to offer recompense for any insult, let me know, please."

Dukal simply sat back and watched as things unfolded, pretty much as he expected them to. When Milenko walked in and eyed him, he merely nodded at him in greeting, then went out to the yard to see to the animals...Mostly, it was to prevent any awkward questions from Milenko, as well as the others, but also to keep from interfering in the meeting between the two former angels.
The horse that the mute had left tied to the post, he loosed and led to the stable, unsaddling it swiftly. He put it into one of the stalls, ensuring that the manger was filled with oats, as well as plenty of water in the trough. Next, he went to the wagon, unhobbled the horses and led them to the rear of the stable where he unhitched them from their burden, then led them to their own stalls. Quickly, he went between the three animals, running combs through their hair to remove the dust and burrs accumulated on their journey before leaving the stables, securing the doors to prevent any tampering. He then eyed the tavern, wondering if he should re-enter yet...
